It’s always such a Blessing anytime we can gather as children of God, disciples of our Lord, sisters and brothers to one another, and as pilgrims together on Spiritual Pilgrimages.
My lovely wife Dame Wynsdey and I just got back from an amazing two weeks with 42 pilgrims as we journeyed from Fatima to Lourdes.
As we walked this journey, we truly felt our Lord walking alongside of us as we showed our Love to His and our, Blessed Mother.
I truly can’t even begin to list all of the amazing Blessings that we all shared.
In Fatima we joined a few thousand of our sister and brother pilgrims for the torchlight procession, and I was even humbled to be asked to help carry the statue of Our Lady of Fatima amongst all the other pilgrims in the procession.
The next day, right after our Mass, everyone was looking at their phones and yelling White Smoke! Our entire pilgrimage family took over the lounge in our hotel and ordered bottles of wine and watched the TV as we awaited the announcement and the introduction to our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.
There were cheers and tears. We will all remember that special moment that we shared together on our pilgrimage. In Lourdes we again joined thousands of pilgrims as we processed with our candles and prayed the Rosary together. Words cannot express the love and reverence that was felt flowing through the crowd.
Father Francis and I led Stations of the Cross together and on the 12th Station, Jesus dies on the Cross, a dark cloud came over head and just as we finished praying that Station, a very Loud Thunder clap echoed through the sky. We all just stood there looking at one another as tears welled up in all our eyes. We even got the amazing Blessing of having a water gesture ceremony where we got to wash our hands and faces with the Healing Waters from Lourdes.
Those are just some of the many amazing moments we all got to experience and share with one another as a true pilgrimage family.
I pray that Wynsdey and I may have the opportunity to journey with many of you on a Spiritual Pilgrimage in the future.
